A commemorative medal issued by the Royal Dutch Mint commemorates the international holiday celebrated annually on the night between October 31 and November 1. This is a time when, according to legend, the line between the world of the living and the world of spirits is blurred, and Halloween is also considered a symbolic transition point from the bright and warm half of the year to the dark and cold winter.
The front of the medal features a terrifying clown and the large inscription “Trick.” The back features a large pumpkin surrounded by holiday paraphernalia, along with the word “Treat.” The medal is housed in a colorful card that perfectly captures the Halloween atmosphere: a dark, ominous cemetery on one side and a majestic castle silhouette on the reverse.
