Fernand de Magellan (1480-1521) – Portuguese navigator and explorer. He was one of the first explorers to tour and succeed in it.

On the obverse of the coin, in addition to Magellan, Victoria is depicted sailing the seas and oceans. It was the first ship to travel across the globe during an expedition to the Moluccas. This is reflected in the world map in the background, which also shows the route taken by Magellan and his team. Parallels and meridians are also shown.

The reverse of the coin depicts a fragment of the Monastery of Christ in Tomar, Portugal.
