Jean-Baptiste Poquelin worked under the pseudonym Molière (1622-1673), was a 17th-century French comedian, creator of classical comedy, actor and theater director. Moliere is to this day considered the most famous person of France in the theatrical field.
The reverse side is common for the entire series “The Art of the Pen”. Several symbolic quotes are written on it, such as “Le mieux est l’ennemi du bien” by Voltaire, “Lasciate ogne speranza voi ch’intrate” by Dante Alighieri, “To be or not to be: that is the question” by William Shakespeare or “ Was micht umbringt, macht mich stärker ”Nietzsche. A feather is engraved in the center of the coin and under the name of the series. The abbreviation of the French Republic “RF” is engraved in the lower right corner of the coin, as well as the distinctive mark of the design author Joaquin Jimenez.
