The coin is dedicated to Steve Irwin, also known as the Crocodile Hunter, and his favorite crocodile, Bindi. Steve Irwin, or actually Steven Robert Irwin, was an Australian naturalist, television personality and passionate environmentalist.

On the reverse there is an image of a colorful crocodile with the inscription “SALTWATER CROCODILE”, the name of the crocodile is BINDI and the denomination “ONE DOLLAR”.
