Silver coin $1 Australia 2024 – Kookaburra
€44.00 includes 22% VAT
First minted in 1990 by the renowned Perth Mint, the coin was the first silver bullion coin to honor one of Australia’s most endearing birds, the Kookaburra. The kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher family and the national bird of Australia. Known for its raucous laugh, the kookaburra can be heard across Australia – from the outback to the backyard.
In 2024, the motif appears in a new design: a kookaburra flying over a gorge with a snake in its claws. The design also includes the “P125” mint mark, marking the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. The reverse of the coin depicts a portrait of His Majesty King Charles III.
