10 Euro Silver Coin France 2021 Aviation and History – Alpha Jet

This Silver Coin is part of the Aviation and History series, which began in 2017. This issue features Alpha Jet and Patrouille de France, the oldest military acrobatic flight team of all time.

The Alpha Jet is a French-German (Dassault-Breguet / Dornier) creation designed for training or ground attacks. It has been equipped with the Patruile-de-France since 1981 and is one of the five aircraft that made the history of the Patruile-de-France; this contributed to the influence of the French Air Force throughout the world. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Alpha Jet in Patrouil-de-France, but also in connection with the 90th anniversary of this, such a coin was issued.

The obverse depicts an Alfa Jet in the colors of the French flag, with several under construction in the background. Around the inscriptions: “40 ANS D’ALPHAJET 1981-2021” and “patrouille de France”.

The reverse of the coin depicts the profiles of the two pilots, symbolizing different eras and types of use: civil and military. There are several planes in the sky, also representing different eras and used as a tribute to the history of aviation. Around the inscriptions: “L’AVIATION & L’HISTOIRE”, “RF” and “10 EURO”.
