Silver coin 3,000 riel Cambodia 2023 – Lost Tigers of Cambodia

This silver coin is the second release in the Lost Tigers of Cambodia series. The series debuted in 2022 and attracted significant interest as Cambodia’s first-ever legal tender bullion coin.
The coin features an Indochinese tiger. Cambodia has had to reintroduce tigers after they almost disappeared more than a decade ago. It is believed that there are only about 350 Indo-Chinese tigers left in the world. This is mainly due to poaching and habitat loss. Indo-Chinese tigers are powerful religious and cultural symbols for Cambodians. The obverse features an Indochinese tiger surrounded by lush leaves in its natural habitat.
