This new collector’s coin is dedicated to the maritime history of the island of Vis and the tradition of the falkuša—a legendary fishing boat. In the past, such vessels would sail in pairs, competing in agility and speed, and it is this naval courage that inspired the coin’s design.

The obverse depicts two falkushes, side by side, as a memory of the rivalry of fishermen and the unity of the people of the sea.
The reverse side features the Komiža fortress and three surviving falkuši gaetas, which continue to symbolise the island’s living tradition.
