Coin set – Mauritania

The set consists of four Mauritanian coins in denominations of 1, 2, 5, and 20 ouguya. They are legal tender.

The design of these coins reflects Mauritania’s rich cultural and natural heritage. The 1 ougouya coin depicts a teapot, symbolizing hospitality; the 2 and 5 ougouya coins are decorated with folk musical instruments, highlighting local culture and crafts; and the 20 ougouya coin features camels, a symbol of desert fauna and the importance of caravan routes. The obverse of each coin displays its denomination and the state seal.
