2 euro Vatican 2025 – Michelangelo BU

The coin commemorates the 550th anniversary of the birth of Michelangelo, the greatest artist, architect, and sculptor of the Renaissance period. He created the “David,” painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and made a significant contribution to the architecture of St. Peter’s Basilica. Michelangelo’s works have become a true symbol of human talent and continue to inspire people around the world.

The coin depicts the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, designed by Michelangelo. Below is a reference to the structure of the Sistine Chapel ceiling, painted by the great master. On the left is Michelangelo’s signature, reproduced from original historical documents. The reverse of the coin traditionally shows its face value and a map of Europe.
