5€ France 2026 – Animals of the World: Polar Animals

Animals hold a special place in our imagination, evoking admiration, respect, and curiosity, reminding us of the beauty and diversity of nature. In 2026, the Monnaie de Paris will present a new series, “Animals of the World,” consisting of six coins dedicated to iconic representatives of the planet’s fauna, each symbolizing the richness and biodiversity of the Earth.

The fifth coin in the series is dedicated to polar animals. Polar bears, penguins, and seals possess unique characteristics and are perfectly adapted to extremely cold climates. These strong, agile, and amazing animals play a vital role in their ecosystems.

Obverse: Three representatives of the polar world are depicted—a polar bear, a penguin, and a seal. The composition is complemented by a wreath with symbols characteristic of the depicted animals, creating a unique “family portrait.”
Reverse: branches of laurel and oak.
