2 euro Belgium 2026 – National Geographical Institute and Royal Observatory Reverse Proof

The second Belgian 2-euro coin of 2026 is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the National Geographic Institute of Belgium and the 200th anniversary of the Royal Observatory of Belgium. The National Geographic Institute is responsible for the country’s official cartography, geodetic data, and the collection, processing, and presentation of geographic information. The Royal Observatory, founded in 1826, conducts astronomical and geophysical research, including the study of the Sun, celestial bodies, earthquakes, and time measurement. Together, these two institutions represent two branches of scientific study: the exploration of the Earth’s territory and its place in the universe.
