The 3-euro commemorative coin “Nova Gorica 2025” is dedicated to the cities of Nova Gorica and Gorizia receiving the status of European Capital of Culture 2025. The issue highlights the close connection between the two cities, separated by a border but united by a shared history and culture.

The design is based on the image of a mosaic—a symbol of connection and collaboration. The reverse features a circular mosaic from Europe Square, with an elongated element connecting the words “NOVA” and “GORICA,” reflecting the idea of urban unity. The obverse is also designed in a mosaic style, symbolizing creativity and renewal.
