Coin set – Turkey

The set consists of six Turkish coins in denominations of 50,000, 100,000, 250,000, 500,000, 750,000, and 1,000,000 lira. These coins were used before the 2005 currency reform. They are no longer legal tender, but they still have numismatic value.

The obverse of the 50,000, 100,000, and 250,000 denomination coins features portraits of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the first president of the Turkish Republic and founder of the modern Turkish state. The larger denominations are decorated with images of domestic sheep, symbolizing agriculture, and a portrait of the Turkish poet Yunus Emre. The reverse side of the coins displays their face value.
