Coin set – New Zealand

The set consists of five New Zealand coins in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50 cents, and $1. The 5 cent coin has been withdrawn from circulation, but the other denominations remain legal tender.

New Zealand’s coin designs reflect the country’s unique natural environment and cultural heritage. The $1 coin features a kiwi, the region’s primary symbol; the 50-cent coin is dedicated to the barque Endeavour, and the 20-cent coin features a traditional Maori carving. Smaller denominations continue the ethnic and natural themes: the 10-cent coin features a stylized koruru mask with ornamentation, and the 5-cent coin features a tuatara, a rare New Zealand reptile. The obverse of all coins features a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
