The coin’s reverse depicts an eagle in a dynamic battle with a snake. This motif symbolizes the eternal clash of forces—courage and cunning, dominance and resistance. The composition is complemented by stormy waves, symbolizing the Mediterranean Sea and emphasizing Malta’s island nature. The obverse features the coat of arms of the Central Bank of Malta, surrounded by a decorative wreath inspired by the ornamentation of the Grand Master’s Palace.
