Silver Coin 6 Euro Croatia 2024 – Trsat Dragon
€350.00 includes 24% VAT
The silver coin is inspired by the bronze sculptures of the Trsat dragons, commissioned by Count Laval Nugent. The basilisks—mythical creatures known in Rijeka folklore as the Trsat dragons—combine the features of a snake, a dragon, and a rooster. They are considered the guardians of Trsat Fortress and are depicted on the Nugent family coat of arms.
The coin’s distinctive antique finish and partial gilding highlight its design details. The obverse depicts the Trsat Dragon holding a gilded shield. The reverse also features a relief image of the mythical creature.
The release is complemented by themed packaging developed in collaboration with Germania Mint designers. The acrylic display featuring Trsat motifs was the result of a project to create packaging from scratch, combining a modern presentation of the coin with elements of natural materials. In this case, oak was chosen for the base, into which the acrylic display case containing the coin is embedded.
