Coin set – Belize

10.00

The set consists of six Belizean coins in denominations of 1, 2, 10, 25, 50 cents, and 1 dollar. The modern series of coins with this design began to be issued in the late 20th century and is still in use in Belize today.

The obverse of the coins features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, as Belize is a Commonwealth realm and formally recognizes the British monarch as its head of state. The reverses show the coin’s denomination and are decorated with national symbols of Belize or natural motifs. The 1-cent coin has a unique wavy shape, reminiscent of a flower.

The Belize one-dollar coin stands out from the others in the set, both in its shape and its image. The reverse of the coin features a sailing ship—a historic vessel symbolizing the country’s maritime history and the era of colonial trade.
