Coin set – Bangladesh
€7.00
The set consists of three Bangladeshi coins in denominations of 1, 2, and 5 taka. The coin series was introduced and actively issued in the late 2000s and early 2010s and remains legal tender.
The obverse of the 1- and 2-taka coins features a water lily surrounded by ears of rice, with four stars and jute leaves above it—symbols of the state and its main economic sectors. The obverse of the 5-taka coin features the emblem of the Central Bank of Bangladesh, and the coin itself is decagonal.
The reverse of the coins features a portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a political leader and statesman who led the Bangladesh independence movement and became the first president of the independent country. He is often referred to as “Bangabandhu”—Father of the Nation.
