Coin set – Tonga

The set consists of five Tongan coins in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 seniti. They are legal tender.

The coin design reflects the region’s diverse fauna and the importance of agriculture in Tonga life. The coins feature vanilla and banana plants, coconuts, sweet potatoes, a hen with chicks, and an ear of corn. The obverse of the 10- and 20-cent coins features a portrait of Taufa’ahau Tupou IV, King of Tonga from 1965 to 2006.
