2 euro Croatia 2026 – 100 years of Croatian Radio and Television

The coin commemorates the 100th anniversary of Croatian Radio and Television (HRT), the country’s oldest national broadcaster. The history of Croatian radio began in 1926 with the first regular broadcasts of Radio Zagreb, later joined by television, which became an important part of country’s cultural and social life. For a century, HRT has preserved national traditions, covered the country’s most important events, and promoted the development of the Croatian language, culture, and art.

The obverse of the coin features a modern, minimalist design. The central portion bears the inscription “100 GODINA HRVATSKE RADIOTELEVIZIJE” (“100 Years of Croatian Radio and Television”). The background is formed by repeating wave-like lines, symbolizing radio waves, the television signal, and the continuity of broadcasting for an entire century. The reverse side of the coin displays the face value.
