Coin set – Libya

The set consists of four Libyan coins in denominations of 50 and 100 dirhams, ¼ and ½ dinar. They are considered legal tender.

The design of these coins reflects Libya’s history and culture. The obverse depicts a well—a symbol of traditional agriculture and the importance of water in the desert; the interior of Ksar Kabaw, a historic fortress; a palm tree as a symbol of abundance; and the mausoleum of Heriza, a monument to the country’s ancient history. The reverse of each coin features the denomination, surrounded by stylized ornaments.
