Coin set – Colombia

The set consists of five Colombian coins in denominations of 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 pesos. The series began issuing in 2012 and remains the country’s official currency.

The design of the coin series is dedicated to Colombia’s biodiversity and its natural symbols. The obverses of the coins feature a sea turtle, a frog, a scarlet macaw, a spectacled bear, and the frailejón, a plant characteristic of the Andean highlands. The reverses feature the denomination of each coin, surrounded by stylized ornaments.
