Coin Set – West African Countries

The set consists of five West African coins in denominations of 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 francs. They are legal tender.

The coins depict scenes from everyday life, including two women and a child collecting water, and a laboratory assistant working with a test tube. The artwork also reflects the region’s rich natural environment, with floral motifs and a gazelle head, symbolizing the local fauna. The obverse features the emblem of the Central Bank of West African States—the Ashanti gold weight.
