Coin set – Haiti
€6.00
The set consists of three Haitian coins in denominations of 5, 20, and 50 centimes. These are older coins, no longer used in everyday transactions due to high inflation, but they are of interest as collector’s items.
The obverse of the coins features a portrait of Charlemagne Péralta, a Haitian military leader and one of the founders of the rebel movement against the American occupation of Haiti. The reverse of the coins features the national emblem: a pyramid of cannons and flags, surrounded by various weapons and military paraphernalia symbolizing the struggle for independence. At the top of the pyramid stands a flaming liberty cap, and at the bottom is a ribbon bearing the motto “L’Union Fait La Force” (“Strength in Unity”).
